Welcome to Abbey Grange Sixth Form. Whether you are new to the school or came through lower school, we welcome you in to a learning environment with a vibrant atmosphere that enables you to develop in and out of the classroom.
As Director of Sixth form, my role is to support and encourage you to do the best that you are capable of. We hope to live up to the notion of ‘to educate, nurture and empower’.
Our students typically go on to Higher Education courses when they leave us although a growing number are starting higher level apprenticeships.
We have a clear focus on outcomes. We have had great success in recent years and this is down to a number of factors, such as the attitude and effort of our students and effective communication and between students, staff and parents. We all want the same thing and it is important we work together in order to get it.
It is vital that we support the development of individuals so they are prepared to leave Abbey Grange and move on in the direction they choose. Our aim is to give you the tools to succeed so you can move on to your chosen next stage in life. The Christian ethos is a central element to the school and this promotes the desire for togetherness and a strong community. Making the most of your own ability comes from your behaviour inside and outside of the classroom. We do this through initiatives such as our community service programme, the mentoring system and the enrichment opportunities we give you at Abbey Grange.
We work closely with you to develop your ‘soft skills’, such as building resilience and effective communication skills. Such skills are vital for all areas of life. From work experience, interview preparation and the Post Abbey Grange progression programme, we want you to leave Abbey Grange fully prepared for what life will throw at you.
We look forward to welcoming you to Abbey Grange 6th Form and hope you enjoy your time here, whilst making great progress in and out of the classroom.
