Our Trust mission is: ‘To work in partnership, toeducate, nurture and inspire’.
The Abbey Scholars Programme is unashamedly academic and is available exclusively to students that sit in the highest tier of academic attainment at GCSE level. The programme is designed to give maximum exposure to a wide range of experiences, research and academic that facilitates students’ equitable entry into the most competitive and elite higher education institutions.
The aim of the Scholars Programme is to encourage those students who achieved excellent GCSE grades to stretch themselves academically and to aim high in their university and career aspirations. The Scholars’ Programme is therefore a supplement to students’ academic provision, aimed to help equip them with skills in wider academic research, debating and critical thinking. Ultimately, the programme is to help prepare students for the rigorous admissions processes that are used to gain entry to: Oxbridge; Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary science; competitive courses at Russell Group universities.
More so than ever before, Universities are expecting students to possess a repertoire of core skills that are not only vital to succeeding at undergraduate level but are essential to creating adaptability in the ever-evolving twenty-first century workplace; therefore, the programme is designed to increase their confidence and develop their abilities as an autonomous scholar.
