Catering

At Abbey Grange C of E Academy, we recognise the important connection between a healthy diet and a student’s ability to learn effectively. To reflect this, we have the following aims –

  • To ensure nutrition and a healthy diet has a prominent place in school life
  • To offer healthy food and drink choices at all appropriate opportunities
  • To increase student knowledge of different food types in the context of a balanced diet
  • To ensure that food provision in the school reflects the ethical and medical requirements of staff and students (religious, ethical, vegetarian, medical and allergic needs)

Catering at Abbey Grange is provided by Caterlink, who prepare, cook and serve from our in-school kitchen.

Sixth Form students have access to their own catering outlet, "Chef's Kitchen". Here we serve a range of items not available in the main school canteen including coffee and fizzy drinks, salad boxes and pizza. Take a look at the full menus below exclusively available to Sixth Formers and Staff.

Food Allergies and Dietary Requirements

Cater link are committed to providing suitable meals for all students. Please ensure that your child's allergy or dietary requirements have been registered at the school office.

If you have any questions about menus or queries relating to your child’s dietary requirements, please speak to the School Office.

Payments

At Abbey Grange we operate a cashless system, so that when money has been paid into your account (either online through ParentPay or by cash using PayPoint). Please ensure your child has enough credit on their card to purchase food each day.

Students are set with a daily spending limit on their card to prevent them spending all their money in one day. This limit is currently £9.99 per day however this can be changed at your request. Please contact the school office if you wish to change your limit.

Parents/carers are requested to speak to their children to ensure they do not overspend on their card. We frequently have students spending too much at morning break, who then do not have enough money to buy a lunch.
