The sports leaders qualification is a great opportunity for students who have a keen interest in sports and coaching to further develop their interest in these areas. The course has 16 UCAS points available and students will have 1 lesson a week. These lessons will be both theory and practical lessons where you will learn how to coach, plan and then deliver sessions to younger students. You will have to demonstrate 14 hours of leadership and this can we within our school setting or within local clubs.

The Sports Leaders UK Level 3 Award in Higher Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that is great for a personal statement and UCAS application (16 UCAS points).
This course gives students the opportunity to learn the skills needed to plan and deliver sessions for specialist community groups and schools and to develop their knowledge on coaching/leading on different sports. It helps to develop confidence and the ability to communicate effectively with other people and peers. The course is of value to those who wish to further develop their coaching skills or progress onto a career involving any leadership.
Assessment is through portfolio work, practical demonstration, community work and the running of a major sports event for local primary schools.
As a nationally recognised qualification it is an excellent stepping stone to Higher/Further education, voluntary or paid work in sports development, leisure management, teaching and coaching sport.
Participating in Sports Leaders has been instrumental in boosting my confidence. I've acquired numerous skills that are not only applicable to my subjects but also valuable in various aspects of life. Moreover, Sports Leaders has provided me with the opportunity to actively contribute to various events, including collaborating with local primary schools.
