Abbey Grange Sixth Form students have once again achieved fantastic A Level and BTEC Results. It was an absolute delight to spend the morning celebrating with them and seeing them secure their places at a huge range of universities (including large numbers of Russell Group institutions) and apprenticeships.
Students worked extremely hard in the last two years after being the first cohort to sit their GCSEs after Covid and they have performed admirably. Nearly half of all grades awarded are A* - B and a large amount of students achieved straight A*/A grades across all their subjects.
Over a fifth of our students achieved 3 A Levels with all subjects graded A* - B, and the average grade achieved was a C. These results are in line with last years and our results in 2019 from before the pandemic showing that these students performed just as well even with the significant disruption to their education by covid.
Vice Principal, Dawn Morgan, said: "I am so proud of our students. They have worked so hard over the last two years and achieved a huge variety of successes as well as gaining entry to some amazing destinations. We wish them well and congratulate them on their results."
Simon Prinsep, Principal, said: "What this year group have achieved is brilliant. They were the first cohort to do GCSEs after Covid and, even with the news reporting a drop in top grades, they have managed to get half of the overall grades to be A* - B. We are very proud of them and the staff who have gone above and beyond to deliver a great set of results.
